Privacy Notice

Our Privacy Policy applies to all member companies of FIC Insurance Group, including:

We have a long tradition of commitment to quality service to our customers. Directors, officers, and employees recognize and respect the privacy expectations of our customers. It is the company’s desire for our customers to understand our commitment to privacy in our use of customer information. As a result of our commitment, a Privacy Policy was developed and is made readily available for your review.

Part of our commitment is recognizing the importance of maintaining the privacy of your non-public personal information, which includes medical, financial or personal information, that you furnish to us in the underwriting and servicing of your insurance policies.

We value the trust that our customers give us by purchasing our insurance products. To return that trust, we have established procedures to provide for the proper handling of nonpublic personal information of our existing, potential and former customers.

With the passage by Congress of the Financial Services Modernization Act, state insurance regulatory agencies have adopted new regulations that carry out the privacy mandates of that legislation. We support the objectives of these privacy initiatives.

We value our customers and take your privacy seriously. You will be informed of our policies for collecting, using, securing and distributing nonpublic personal information the first time we do business, and annually while you are our customer.

Emphasis of Our Privacy Policy

Information Collected

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who fills out an application.

What this means for you: When you fill out an application, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents.

Maintain Accurate Information

Officers, directors, and employees work hard to ensure that our customers' non-public personal information is accurate, current and complete. It is our pledge to respond to requests to correct inaccurate information in a timely manner.

Limitations on Employees Access to Information

Employee access to personally identifiable customer information is limited to those with a business reason to know such information, either to assist the customer in the completion of transactions or in the sale of additional insurance services. Employees are educated on the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of customer information.

Personnel will not provide information about our customers to anyone without first verifying who they are, and whether they may have legal access to the information. Because of the importance of these issues, all employees, officers and directors are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of customer information and anyone who violates these Privacy Principles will be subject to disciplinary measures.

Security Procedures

All of our operational and data processing systems are in a secure environment that protects customer account information from being accessed by third parties, with safeguards implemented in accordance with established security standards and procedures.

Restrictions on the Disclosure of Privacy Information

It is the company’s policy not to reveal specific information about customers or any personal identifiable data to unaffiliated third parties for their independent use, except for the exchange of information with reputable information reporting agencies to maximize the accuracy and security of such information, or in the performance of bona fide corporate due diligence or business matters, unless:

At the present time, we are using a simplified version of the Privacy Notice since the company does not, nor plans to; disclose non-public information for marketing or similar purposes to any unaffiliated third party.

Vendors and suppliers are required to maintain similar standards of conduct regarding the privacy of personally identifiable customer information provided to them.

Delivery of Privacy Notices

There are three times in the course of a relationship that Privacy Notices are required:

Annual Notices

Annual Notices must be provided yearly as a reminder of the organization privacy policy and the annual Privacy Notice must continue throughout the lifetime of the relationship.

Privacy Notices are not required if the consumer does not have a continuing relationship with the company.

Revised Notices

Any time a change is made to the Privacy Notice, consumers and customers must be provided a copy of the new Privacy Notice.
